cultural inspiration vs cultural appropriation …
before John Galliano, Alexander Mcqueen, or Christian Lacroix could use world cultures to inspire their collections and nobody ever thought it was inappropriate or disrespectful. what happened that today everybody seems to scream bloody disrespect or play the culturally offensive card when designers take inspiration from culture, or maybe the fashion of yesteryears were done better and classier and more impeccable than today’s garbage so nobody felt the need to scream at bloody mediocre styling in the past unlike the present ? LOL
what are your thoughts on this overly WOKE generation that has instead of inspiring fashion, has suppressed creativity and innovation instead!!!!
