what a beautiful message from a new star . and at the sport of TENNIS which is close to my hearr. she is the ALEX EALA from my country who trained in the Rafael Nadal Academy when she was young and has made her mark in the tennis world beating Elena Rybakina, Iga Swiatek, Eleven Svitolina. Her lefty game probably throws them off and quickness on court….
her message and struck me emotionally was, maybe for Iga or the Williams sisters who have won so many Grand Slam titles and matches, her match win seems nothing but for a Filipina girl whose country does not exactly have tennis greatness written on its sports halls, THE WIN over defending champion, Swiatek on Center Court on a gigantic tournament is EVERYTHING to her.
this takes me back to An article written about Anthony Bourdain. how one’s happinesses will never be equal to that of another’s. Life and its adventures, love, prosperity, prestige…anything we aspire to at all…is really just the currency we use to buy the four things that really matter: dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins.
What can I do to get more joy out of everyhting I’m presented with, big or small?
Eala’s message embodies that her biggest happiness was defined by her, mattered to her and might seem minute to others but it is her and her who matters and not the comparisons or the contentious way that life tends to do us humans!!
